Happy 80th birthday, John Lennon. Hard to believe that it's been almost 40 years since John was brutally murdered. One can only imagine what his life would have been like had he not been cut down. The at times, seemingly, cruelty of a random Universe is well exhibited here; John Lennon dies at 40 and unnamed toxic dirtbags get to walk the earth, unpunished. I suspect that part of the rage that fuels me (quietly) manifests itself in my painting.
Newest work below, "A Day At The Beach" (which painting this was not-tongue firmly planted in aged cheek). 36"x48" with acrylic base coat and Speedball ink impasto topcoat. Needs some very minor tweaks and then a gloss medium on top. The shine is reflected light. Zoom in for some delicious textures.
